Al-Bouti: Gatherings are being used by those who wish to use them for their own ends, should be stopped
Religious scholar Mohammad Saiid Ramadan al-Bouti said on Sunday that gatherings were and still are being used by those who wish to use them to their own ends, and that there are some who are violating the instructions of security agencies and the state.
In a speech televised by the Syrian TV, al-Bouti said that the solution is by stopping gatherings, particularly since those who call from them do so from abroad as they live in luxury and safety and watch what is happening in Syria with bemusement.
He said that one should assume that when gatherings occur, infiltrators may benefit from this, adding that he asked some youths about why they are participating in these gatherings and they responded that they just heard calls for them.
Al-Bouti said that this isn’t how reform is achieved, and wondered why Friday has become a day of fear, terror and panic. He affirmed adherence to the nation’s principles and morals, saying “we stand being those who are faithful in defending the religious values and principles and protect the nation’s rights, elevating the nation to noble morals, regardless of their affiliation.”
He warned those who sneak from abroad with hopes of arousing sectarianism and sedition, saying that the Syrians’ loyalty is to values, principles and morals.
