Analyst Thierry Meyssan: US-Western Campaign Targets Syria Stability… Syrian Army Fights Armed Gangs
The political analyst Thierry Meyssan on Sunday stressed that Syria is confronting a campaign that aims at destabilizing it.
In a news analysis published on ‘Egalite et reconciliation’ Website and Voltaire net, Meyssan said that the media campaign is part of a pre-set scheme set by the US and Western powers.
Meyssan added that the media war waged against Syria aims at diverting attention from the existence of armed gangs which are participating in the events there.
Meyssan criticized these misleading channels for fabricating fake news and exploiting photos aired on the Syrian TV of armed gangs shooting citizens and police forces alike and alleging that the Syrian government is the side responsible for these shootings.
He stressed that the Syrian army is not curbing protests, but is fighting and facing the armed groups and their attempts to destabilize the country.
“This plot is part of a scheme brought up by John Bolton on 6 May 2002 when he was serving as Undersecretary of State in the Bush administration. The Obama administration implemented this project nine years later in the context of the Arab Awakening”, he said .
