Authorities Confiscate Large Shipment of Smuggled Firearms Northwest of Hama
Authorities confiscated on Tuesday night two vehicles loaded with a large shipment of firearms from smuggled from outside Syria in the northwestern area of Hama governorate.
The weapons, which were bound for armed terrorist groups, include 160 modern, high-tech pump-action shotguns and spare parts.
The two vehicles, one of them a Kia van and the other a Kia sedan, carried Hama license plates and were located on one of the roads, with the weapons hidden in bags and bundles beneath covers of reeds.
The two vehicles’ drivers and their companions were arrested.Investigations to uncover the details of the operation are underway.
