DAMASCUS– President Bashar al-Assad discussed on Saturday with Secretary General of the Arab League Dr. Nabil al-Arabi the events taking place in Syria, with al-Arabi affirming that the Arab League and Arab countries are committed to Syria’s security and stability.

Al-Arabi also briefed President al-Assad on the efforts carried out by Arab League in order to announce the establishing of a Palestinian state with full UN membership, with President al-Assad voicing Syria’s full support for these efforts and all endeavors that benefit Palestinians and Arabs.
The meeting was attended by Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem, Presidential Political and Media Advisor Dr. Bouthaina Shaaban, Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Dr. Fayssal Mikdad, Syria’s Permanent Representative at the Arab League Ambassador Yousef Ahmad, Deputy Secretary General of the Arab League Ambassador Ahmed Ben Helli, and the delegation accompanying Dr. al-Arabi.
